Vietnam’s Top Leader Concludes Fruitful Visit to Mongolia, Sets Sights on Ireland

On Tuesday, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President Tô Lâm departed from Ulaanbaatar after a successful two-day official visit to Mongolia, en route to Ireland where he will participate in additional state engagements at the invitation of President Michael D. Higgins. During his time in Mongolia, President Lâm engaged in bilateral talks with President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, held discussions with Chairman of the Parliament Dashzegviin Amarbayasgalan, and met Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene. Noteworthy events included the inauguration of the Vietnam Cultural Day 2024, as well as a visit to Inter-Level School No. 14, which honors President Hồ Chí Minh. Additionally, he interacted with Vietnamese Embassy staff and the Vietnamese community, alongside representatives from various Mongolian business entities. The discussions between leaders underscored the esteemed Vietnam-Mongolia friendship that has flourished for over seventy years, focusing on the enhancement of their bilateral relations and addressing global and regional matters of common interest.
