This intention was highlighted during the meeting between Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdel Samad Kayouh, and the Transport Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, held in Rabat. The discussion occurred on the margins of the 29th extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization.
During the meeting, the two countries underscored their shared commitment to enhance cooperation within the transportation sector. They agreed to facilitate more frequent meetings of their respective technical committees to investigate avenues for cooperation and undertake exchanges of knowledge and expertise in transport-related matters. Notably, flights between Libya and Morocco ceased in February 2015 due to security-related restrictions imposed by Moroccan authorities, which also included a prohibition on Libyan aircraft traversing Moroccan airspace.
