Kashmir Solidarity Day Observed at Pakistan Embassy in Paris

The Embassy of Pakistan in France held a special event for Kashmir Solidarity Day, attended by the Pakistani diaspora and supporters of Kashmir. Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the legitimacy of the Kashmir movement and urged global accountability for India’s human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. The event highlighted the ongoing struggle for self-determination and the need for international awareness.

On Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Embassy of Pakistan in France hosted a significant event attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, overseas Kashmiris, academics, and journalists to express solidarity with the Kashmiris’ continual struggle for self-determination. Participants emphasized the need for global and media attention on the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and called for accountability of India regarding its alleged violations.

Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch reaffirmed the Embassy’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, stating that their movement for rights is both peaceful and legitimate, aligned with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. The Ambassador condemned India’s attempts to damage the legitimacy of the freedom movement and urged for a reversal of unlawful actions taken in the region since August 5, 2019, including demographic changes.

Moreover, Ambassador Baloch advocated for the immediate release of detained Kashmiri leaders, journalists, human rights activists, and youth, and called for steps to enforce full compliance with UNSC’s resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. She commended the contributions of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities in France toward raising awareness for the Kashmir cause and pledged the Embassy’s dedication to the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination.

Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually to highlight the plight of Kashmiris in their quest for self-determination amid ongoing political tension. Over the past seventy years, the Kashmiri populace has faced various challenges under Indian administration, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. The international community’s involvement is crucial to addressing human rights violations and advocating for a peaceful resolution based on established UN resolutions.
