They explored collaborations in multiple sectors and emphasized the significance of peace in regional conflicts. The meeting involved key officials, reflecting strong UAE-Greece relations established through a substantial investment agreement.

On Thursday, President Sheikh Mohamed of the United Arab Emirates held a meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Prime Minister of Greece, at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations under the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership (CSP), as reported by the state news agency Wam.

Both leaders explored collaborations across various sectors, including the economy, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, investment, food security, and renewable energy. Additionally, they exchanged insights on important regional and international developments while emphasizing the need to achieve peace in both regional and global conflicts.

The meeting was attended by prominent officials, including Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, among others.

The CSP was established in March of the previous year following an agreement between the Mubadala Investment Company from Abu Dhabi and Greece’s Hellenic Development Bank of Investments, which entailed a €200 million ($219 million) investment. This strategic partnership encompasses a wide range of cooperation, including political engagements, trade and investment, tourism, culture, and energy sector advancements.

Dr. Sultan Al Jaber remarked that the UAE expressed a strong desire to enhance its strategic relations with Greece, particularly in mutually advantageous sectors. This partnership signifies a commitment to fostering collaboration that can yield significant economic benefits for both nations.

The meeting between President Sheikh Mohamed and Prime Minister Mitsotakis underscores the commitment of the UAE and Greece to enhance their bilateral partnership. By focusing on strategic sectors such as technology, renewable energy, and investment, both nations aim to bolster cooperation for mutual benefit. Their conversation also highlighted the importance of achieving peace in today’s geopolitical climate.
