Since assuming the presidency following the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah and the assassination of key Hezbollah leaders, including Hassan Nasrallah, Aoun articulated his desire for peace. “Lebanon is tired. The Lebanese are tired of others fighting their wars on our land,” he stated, emphasizing the need for the country to focus on economic and political recovery.
