The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a group of premier artificial intelligence (AI) entrepreneurs from Argentina during a Tech Launch event on March 4. This event aims to provide valuable insights into the future of AI and its applications in business. Marla Johnson, UA Little Rock’s tech-entrepreneur-in-residence, emphasized Argentina’s rising prominence in AI innovation, citing companies like Celara and Possumus as key players driving this transformation.
The event will occur at the Schueck, Lexicon, McCarty Auditorium located within the Engineering and Information Technology Building. It will feature presentations and panel discussions from experts affiliated with AI-centric businesses, followed by a networking reception at the Windgate Center of Art + Design. The program will commence at 1:30 p.m. with a keynote address titled “Beyond the Buzz: Where AI is Headed in 2025,” delivered by Zubair Talib, an AI expert with an MIT background and executive director at Celara Labs.
Dr. Brian Berry, vice provost of research and dean of the Graduate School at UA Little Rock, expressed enthusiasm about hosting international experts to enhance educational experiences for students and the broader business community. He believes this is a remarkable opportunity to gain insights from leaders at the forefront of AI innovation.
A panel discussion scheduled for 3 p.m. will focus on “Investing in AI,” exploring current AI investment trends and showcasing how companies are leveraging AI-first products to discover new business prospects. The panel will include Talib, Federico Tagliani, managing director of Possumus, and Pablo Abdian, CEO and co-founder of Celera Labs.
Johnson remarked that Celara and Possumus are leading the way in AI investment, actively cultivating strong teams and identifying upcoming market opportunities. Their experiences will provide attendees with critical insights into the driving forces behind impactful AI investments.
After the discussions, participants are invited to a reception at 4:30 p.m. in the Windgate Center, where they can network with industry leaders, meet the visiting entrepreneurs, and enjoy Argentine wine along with refreshments.
