Lavras Gold Expands Drilling Operations at LDS Project, Highlights Almeria Discovery

Lavras Gold Corp. has expanded drilling at its Lavras do Sul Project in Brazil, focusing on key areas for resource determination. President and CEO Michael Durose discussed notable milestones for 2024, including a significant discovery at Almeria. The company plans extensive drilling and metallurgical testing to enhance its gold exploration efforts.

Lavras Gold Corp. has expanded its drilling operations at the Lavras do Sul (LDS) Project in Brazil, as stated by President and CEO Michael Durose during an interview at the PDAC conference in Toronto. The gold exploration company currently possesses approximately one million ounces of gold across two of its 24 exploration targets.

Durose highlighted several key milestones for 2024, which include 17,000 meters of drilling in significant areas such as Butiá, Fazenda do Posto, and Caneleira. A key achievement is the discovery at Almeria, where drilling revealed 56 meters of mineralization at a grade of 1 gram per ton of gold from the surface.

Looking forward, Lavras Gold intends to focus on infill drilling at Butiá to delineate a potential mineable resource, while also conducting step-out drilling at Fazenda do Posto to assess the limits of mineralization. Furthermore, metallurgical testing will initially take place at Butiá, extending later to Fazenda do Posto.

Durose underscored the importance of forthcoming drilling results and exploration at Caneleira, which are anticipated to serve as significant catalysts for the company’s development in 2024, potentially broadening the extent of known mineralization.

In summary, Lavras Gold Corp. is making significant strides at its LDS Project in Brazil, with extensive drilling plans and promising discoveries. The focus on critical areas such as Butiá and Fazenda do Posto suggests an optimistic outlook for resource identification. Continuous exploration and advancements, particularly at the Almeria site, are expected to enhance the company’s growth trajectory in the coming year.
