On February 28, 2024, Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan (PCUz) organized an online meeting between the children’s ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Finland. During the meeting, Surayyo Rakhmonova, Uzbekistan’s Children’s Rights Commissioner, discussed the implications of Uzbekistan’s new law titled “On Protection of Children from All Forms of Violence” and sought insights into the Finnish institution’s authority and practices. The law aims to prevent violence against children, safeguard child victims, and promote family well-being.
The online meeting facilitated by PCUz underscored the commitment of both Uzbekistan and Finland to enhance child protection.
