Ghana and MTN Group Forge MoU to Advance AI and Digital Skills Development

At the Mobile World Congress 2025, Ghana and MTN Group signed a landmark MoU to promote AI and digital skills through the ‘One Million Coders’ initiative. At the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Ghana’s Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation inaugurated a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MTN Group. This initiative aims to enhance digital skills, advance artificial intelligence (AI), improve data governance, and bolster cybersecurity for the youth of Ghana. The agreement, effective for 12 months, establishes a collaborative framework between MTN Group, MTN Ghana, and the Ghanaian government.

This MoU is integral to the ‘One Million Coders’ initiative, which seeks to equip Ghana’s younger population with vital digital skills in light of the rapidly changing technology landscape.
