Bashir, National Secretary of the APC, criticized the PDP for its disorganization and inability to govern Nigeria. He welcomed Hon. Nicholas Ossai, a former PDP member, into the APC, underscoring the APC’s efforts to strengthen its party structure and restore public trust. The APC positions itself as a reliable alternative amidst PDP’s crisis.
Senator Ajibola Bashir, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) possesses a “dilapidated structure” unworthy of trust in governing Nigeria again. He noted that the PDP is engulfed in a significant crisis, stemming from excessive ambitions and disorganization.
Bashir made these remarks during the reception of Hon. Nicholas Ossai, a former PDP member, at the APC national secretariat in Abuja. He expressed joy on behalf of APC’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, welcoming Ossai into the APC, highlighting the party’s commitment to restoring hope for Nigerian citizens.
Bashir emphasized that one of the core objectives under Ganduje’s leadership is to strengthen the APC and to recruit experienced politicians capable of ensuring electoral victories nationwide. He criticized the PDP further, questioning the trustworthiness of a party that cannot manage its internal affairs, thus celebrating Ossai’s decision to leave what he described as a deteriorating structure.
The APC maintains that the PDP’s organizational crisis severely undermines its capacity to lead Nigeria effectively. Bashir’s remarks reinforce the APC’s commitment to unifying and strengthening its ranks while positioning the party as a reliable alternative. Hon. Ossai’s departure from the PDP further highlights the perceived failures within the opposition party, suggesting a shift toward the APC’s agenda for renewal in Nigerian politics.
