CAN Hosts Farewell for Nepali Women’s Cricket Team Before Uganda Series

The Cricket Association of Nepal bid farewell to the Nepali Women’s Cricket Team on March 5 before they head to Uganda for a Four-Nation Women’s T20 series starting March 8. The team will compete against Namibia, Uganda, and Hong Kong, with the top two teams playing in the finals. CAN Secretary Paras Khadka expressed best wishes and highlighted the importance of international exposure for the team.

On March 5, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) hosted a farewell event for the Nepali Women’s Cricket Team as they prepared to depart for Uganda to participate in a Four-Nation Women’s T20 series.

The tournament, set to take place from March 8, will feature teams from Nepal, Uganda, Hong Kong, and Namibia. During the farewell, CAN Secretary Paras Khadka expressed best wishes for the team, emphasizing that the exposure to cricket in a new environment would greatly enhance their experiences.

Nepal will commence their campaign against Namibia on March 8, followed by matches against Uganda on March 9 and Hong Kong on March 10. They will face Namibia again on March 12, compete against Uganda on March 13, and conclude their group stage matches against Hong Kong on March 14. The top two scoring teams will advance to the final match.

The Nepali Women’s Cricket Team comprises players Indu Berma (Captain), Rubina Chhetri, Puja Mahato, Alisha Kumari Yadav, Sana Prabin, Roma Thapa, Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Mamata Chaudhary, Kabita Joshi, Riya Sharma, Rajmati Airee, Rachana Chaudhary, and Ishwori Bista.

The Cricket Association of Nepal has shown its support for the Nepali Women’s Cricket Team through a farewell event as they embark on an important international tournament.
