On March 6, 2025, Khaled Al-Nasser, head of Kuwait’s Olympic delegation for special intellectual cases, affirmed the Kuwaiti athletes’ strong determination to excel at the Special Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. Al-Nasser spoke to KUNA before the team’s departure, noting that Kuwait will participate in the 12th edition of this prestigious event, scheduled to take place from March 8 to 15.

He highlighted that the athletes have engaged in intensive training camps located in both the UAE and Egypt under expert supervision. The Kuwaiti team is represented by Mariam Dhiab in snowboarding and Hajar Al-Rashidi in snow running, both of whom aspire to deliver strong performances at the international level.

Hoda Al-Khaldi, Executive Manager of Al-Tomooh Sports Club for Intellectual Disabilities, expressed her confidence in the delegation, predicting remarkable results for the athletes in Turin. Dr. Ismail Habash, a specialized emergency physician accompanying the team, indicated that his participation reflects the Ministry of Health’s dedication to supporting athletes with special needs.

The upcoming Special Winter Olympic Games in Turin will host 1,500 competitors and 1,000 trainers from 100 countries, promoting inclusivity and excellence in sports on a global scale.
