India’s National Quantum Mission, initiated in April 2023 with a budget of ₹6,003 crore, aims to establish a self-reliant quantum technology ecosystem. The research paper indicates that significant global investments are being made, especially by China, which has allocated $15 billion for quantum initiatives, compared to the U.S. at $5 billion and Europe at $1.2 billion.

Vinayak Godse, CEO of the Data Security Council of India, noted the evolving nature of the quantum ecosystem, which is becoming increasingly industrialized and witnessing a strengthening supply chain. Subramanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, stated that frontier technologies could potentially drive India towards an 8% growth rate, while stressing that the measurable impact is more critical than the amount invested. He highlighted that there were 50 deals worth ₹150 crore in the quantum sector during 2024, doubling from the previous year’s figures.
