Iran has rejected France’s accusations of supplying arms to Russia for the Ukraine conflict, labeling the claims as baseless and politically motivated. The Iranian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts, criticizing France for its blame-shifting tactics. Iranian officials urge a focus on constructive dialogue to enhance international security.
TEHRAN – Iran has categorically dismissed accusations from French officials alleging that Tehran provided military equipment to Russia for use in Ukraine. The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Iran has no involvement in the Ukraine conflict, deeming the French claims as irresponsible and unfounded.
Regarding these allegations, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei asserted that the accusations are politically motivated. He reiterated Iran’s steadfast stance against war, advocating for diplomacy as the sole means to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
Mr. Baqaei emphasized, “Iran has no involvement in the Ukraine conflict and stands firmly by its position of opposing war.” He articulated that resolving the crisis should occur through dialogue and negotiations among relevant parties.
The remarks from Baqaei responded to French President Emmanuel Macron’s insinuation that Russia is utilizing Iranian-made equipment in Ukraine. Baqaei labeled Macron’s comments as a diversion by Western officials from their failures in maintaining stability.
He further criticized the French government for what he characterized as repeated dissemination of false allegations regarding Iran’s involvement in Ukraine. Baqaei accused French officials of engaging in blame-shifting instead of addressing their own responsibilities concerning European security.
He remarked, “The repetition of such baseless accusations is not only irresponsible but also reveals a deliberate attempt by French authorities to divert attention from their own policies and miscalculations.” Baqaei noted similar allegations in recent years, asserting that Western governments perpetuate a narrative of Iran as a destabilizer while neglecting to acknowledge their roles in ongoing conflicts.
The Iranian spokesperson urged France to reassess its confrontational approach and to prioritize constructive diplomacy. He encouraged French officials to acknowledge their part in shaping international security and to take substantial steps toward de-escalation.
Baqaei concluded, “If France is truly committed to peace and stability, it should stop its blame-shifting tactics and instead work towards genuine diplomatic solutions.”
In summary, Iran has firmly rejected allegations from France regarding its involvement in the Ukraine conflict. The Iranian government emphasizes its commitment to diplomacy over war, urging France to focus on constructive dialogue rather than shifting blame. Iran maintains that accusations of its military support to Russia are politically motivated and distract from Western responsibility in global stability.
