The event was organized by the Muslim World League under the patronage of King Salman and the theme “Towards an Effective Islamic Alliance.” Sessions focused on current developments in Palestine, Sudan, Syria, and issues faced by Muslim minorities globally.
In his opening remarks, Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Asheikh emphasized the essential role of Islamic scholars in promoting unity. He urged attendees to let reason guide their discussions and to fortify relationships and mutual trust within the community. He stressed that challenges within the Islamic world should encourage unity rather than division.
The Grand Mufti highlighted Saudi Arabia’s leadership role in promoting Muslim unity and solidarity, declaring it the “pulsing heart of the Muslim world.” He called for collective efforts to consolidate Islamic ranks and harmonize diverse voices. MWL chief Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa stated that the conference builds upon the groundwork established in the previous Ramadan meeting, focusing on the management of differences for noble intentions.
Al-Issa underscored that real unity is rooted in mutual understanding rather than absolute agreement. He noted that dialogue needs to evolve into action and implementation of initiatives, especially given the shared common ground identified at the conference. The planned initiatives will stem from the “Building Bridges” document and have received support from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states, transitioning into practical application.

Key leaders underscored the importance of fostering mutual understanding over mere agreement.
