PNCR Leader Aubrey Norton Addresses Recent Resignations with Confidence

Aubrey Norton, Leader of the PNCR, downplayed the significance of resignations by Amna Ally and Vanessa Kissoon, asserting the party’s stability and continued growth. He emphasized the party’s grassroots efforts and expressed confidence in its ability to contend in upcoming elections, indicating that resignations do not detract from the party’s strength.

Aubrey Norton, the Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), has dismissed the significance of recent resignations from prominent party members Amna Ally and Vanessa Kissoon. He emphasized that the party continues to gain new memberships and noted that Ally had been inactive for over three years, suggesting her resignation holds no real impact on the organization.

During a press conference, Norton stated, “Amna Ally has not been involved in the PNC since December 2021 when I became leader. Most members of the party believed that she had resigned already, so, I don’t know what it is, you are talking about. So, as far as I am concerned, that is a non-issue.” He also remarked on Kissoon’s departure, which was attributed to personal reasons.

In addition, Norton referred to Attorney-at-Law James Bond, a former party member, who has endorsed President Irfaan Ali for re-election. Despite these resignations, Norton reassured supporters that the PNC remains dedicated to its grassroots efforts, engaging both old and new supporters in preparation for upcoming elections.

“The mere idea of people leaving, in fact some people that leave, probably allow the party to breathe because some of the accusations made against them will no longer be targeted at the party,” remarked Norton, indicating that the departures should not deter the party’s focus. He expressed confidence in the strength of the PNC as evidenced by successful activities and a growing turnout in events.

Norton affirmed that he does not perceive the resignations, or potential further departures, as detrimental to the party’s prospects. He noted the rise in support for the PNCR and assured that the party remains robust moving forward, despite ongoing political dynamics.

In summary, Aubrey Norton, Leader of the PNCR, remains unfazed by recent resignations from key party figures, emphasizing the continuous addition of new members and the party’s ongoing activities. He conveyed confidence in the party’s strength and grassroots engagement, indicating a proactive approach towards upcoming elections despite noted departures.
