In November 2022, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took part in the COP27 climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, where he sought climate compensation and debt relief due to the catastrophic floods experienced in Pakistan. Dar also extended an invitation for Abdelatty to visit Pakistan.
