Additionally, authorities apprehended 1,125 persons attempting to illegally enter Saudi Arabia, with the majority identified as Yemeni (42 percent) and Ethiopian (56 percent) nationals, with the remaining two percent from other countries. There were also 57 individuals detained for attempting to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.
In a bid to combat the facilitation of these violations, Saudi officials arrested 31 individuals suspected of aiding illegal residents through transportation, sheltering, or employment. Furthermore, it was reported that approximately 25,484 expatriates, comprising 22,604 men and 2,880 women, are currently undergoing legal proceedings.
Of the expatriates involved, 17,981 have been referred to their diplomatic missions for the necessary travel documentation, while 2,427 are making arrangements for their departure, and 9,529 individuals have been deported. The Ministry of Interior issued a stern warning to those assisting in illegal activities, stressing that violators might face severe penalties, including prison sentences of up to 15 years, fines reaching SR1 million, and confiscation of vehicles or properties utilized in these offenses.
