Libero Copper Advances Resource Expansion at Mocoa Deposit with New Drilling

Libero Copper & Gold Corporation has commenced drilling on hole MD-046 at the Mocoa copper-molybdenum deposit in Colombia as part of a 14,000-metre resource expansion program. The hole is designed to explore new mineralized areas beyond previously drilled locations and assess continuity within the existing resource model. The ongoing efforts aim to support potential resource growth and solidify Mocoa’s significance in the copper industry.

Libero Copper & Gold Corporation has initiated drilling for hole MD-046, a key part of its 14,000-metre resource expansion program at the Mocoa copper-molybdenum deposit in Colombia. This third hole is designed to explore mineralization outside previously drilled areas, aimed at supporting the expansion of the resource and building upon the successful results of earlier drill holes MD-043, MD-044, and MD-045.

The strategic design of MD-046 focuses on evaluating copper and molybdenum mineral continuity within zones that were initially deemed waste. This hole is anticipated to expand upon the positive findings from MD-044 and will assess mineral extensions beyond earlier drilling campaigns, significantly contributing to the characterization of the Mocoa deposit’s extent and potential.

As of March 12, 2025, MD-046 has reached a depth of 650 metres and continues to advance. This step-out hole is aimed to provide insights into mineralization both laterally and depth-wise, targeting previously overlooked areas. The initial findings have shown strong geological characteristics indicative of mineralization, making MD-046 a crucial player in advancing the understanding of Mocoa’s copper-molybdenum potential.

Under the supervision of Edwin Naranjo Sierra, Exploration Manager at Libero Copper, the drilling operation adheres to strict QA/QC protocols to ensure data integrity and accuracy. The exploration strategy of Libero Copper is structured to unlock additional mineralization potential within the Mocoa project, leveraging a robust operational framework cultivated over years of mining experience.

The Mocoa deposit, first explored in the late 1970s, is positioned in Putumayo, approximately 10 kilometres from the town of Mocoa. Libero Copper holds over 1,000 km² in this region, indicating an extensive scale of exploration. Ongoing drilling initiatives confirm that the Mocoa deposit remains open along both strike and depth, with promising prospects for resource expansion.

Libero Copper continues to make significant strides in its resource expansion efforts at the Mocoa porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit. The commencement of drilling with hole MD-046 exemplifies the company’s strategic commitment to exploring new mineralization and validating the continuity of resources. With robust operational protocols and positive geological findings, Libero Copper is well-positioned to enhance its resource base, paving the way for future growth in response to increasing copper demand.
