Pakistan Calls for Action Against Terrorism and Condemns Regional Violations

Pakistan has urged the Afghan government to act against perpetrators of the Jaffar Express attack. The Foreign Office condemned Israel’s blockade on Gaza and called for international intervention against its actions. Additionally, it criticized India’s designation of Kashmir political groups as unlawful, urging the removal of restrictions on political activities in the region.

Pakistan has called upon the Afghan government to take decisive actions against those responsible for the recent attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan. During a weekly press briefing, the Foreign Office Spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, emphasized that the attack on the passenger train was orchestrated as part of a terrorist plot originating from beyond Pakistan’s borders. He urged the Taliban-led regime in Afghanistan to cooperate with Pakistan in combating terrorism.

The Jaffar Express was attacked near Sibi on Tuesday, resulting in over 400 passengers being held hostage. Pakistani security forces subsequently launched a successful operation that resulted in the neutralization of all 33 assailants and the rescue of the passengers by Wednesday. Tragically, 21 civilians had already lost their lives prior to the initiation of the rescue mission, which also saw the death of four Frontier Corps personnel.

In addition, the Foreign Office spokesperson condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid and the disruption of electricity supplies to Gaza. He described these actions as part of a systematic campaign by Israel to weaponize aid, while dehumanizing the Palestinian population. The spokesperson expressed outrage over the ongoing Israeli attacks in the West Bank and Gaza, which have led to significant civilian casualties, including women and children.

Khan appealed for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the affected regions, the protection of civilians, and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for those in dire need. He insisted that the international community must intervene to stop what he termed Israel’s genocidal actions against Palestinians and insisted on accountability for Israel’s alleged war crimes.

Furthermore, he denounced the Indian government’s recent decision to label the ‘Awami Action Committee’ and ‘Jammu and Kashmir Ittihad-ul-Muslimeen’ as unlawful associations for five years. He argued this decision would hinder political activity within Jammu and Kashmir, thus adding to the number of outlawed political organizations in the region to sixteen. Khan criticized India’s heavy-handed tactics in occupied Kashmir, expressing concerns over the suppression of dissent and violation of democratic principles.

He called on the Indian authorities to lift restrictions on Kashmiri political parties, release political prisoners, and adhere to UN Security Council resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, the spokesperson condemned proposals for the resettlement of Palestinians in other nations, advocating instead for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, to support a two-State solution that would ensure lasting regional peace.

In summary, Pakistan has urgently appealed to Afghanistan to address the threat posed by the recent attack on the Jaffar Express, linking it to broader terrorist activities. The calls for international accountability regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza, alongside condemning Indian restrictions in Kashmir, highlight Pakistan’s stance on regional security and humanitarian rights. These developments underscore ongoing geopolitical tensions and the need for cooperative efforts toward peace and stability.
