In February 2025, Argentina experienced a significant boost in cement production, reaching 0.74 million tonnes (Mt), which marks a 9% increase from the previous year’s 0.68 Mt. This information was reported by the Asociación de Fabricantes de Cemento Portland. Furthermore, exports reached 8,855 tonnes, showing a remarkable year-on-year increase of 64% from 5,384 tonnes recorded in February 2024.

Domestic cement consumption in February 2025 was recorded at 0.73 Mt, reflecting an 8% rise compared to 0.68 Mt in February 2024. Notably, cement imports have seen a substantial decline, totaling only 212 tonnes, down 76% from the 919 tonnes imported in February 2024. This decline in imports further highlights the growth in domestic production capacity.

Argentina’s cement industry demonstrated significant growth in February 2025, with a 9% increase in production and an 8% rise in domestic consumption compared to the previous year. While exports saw a notable increase, imports drastically declined, suggesting a strengthening local market and reduced reliance on external sources.
