Aprilia Rider Enthusiastic About Argentina’s MotoGP as Martin Recovers

The 2025 Argentinian MotoGP returns this weekend after a hiatus since 2023. Aprilia racer Marco Bezzecchi is excited about the event, while Jorge Martin, recovering from injuries, will not participate. Team chief Massimo Rivola confirmed they prioritize Martin’s health, stating Savadori will replace him as they work on improving the bike before his eventual return.

The 2025 Argentinian MotoGP, set to occur this weekend, marks the race’s return after its absence since 2023. Aprilia racer Marco Bezzecchi expressed enthusiasm for Argentina’s return, indicating, “I am very happy to finally return to Argentina because I really like this track and I was sorely disappointed about not going last year.” He highlighted the team’s recent performance in Thailand and their ongoing effort to enhance the RS-GP25 in preparation for their teammate’s return.

Jorge Martin, initially sidelined by injuries from a crash during pre-season testing in Sepang and a subsequent incident resulting in a fractured wrist before the Thailand MotoGP, provided an update on his recovery. He stated, “I’m here in Motoplex for the first time… it’s been a difficult time, but I’m trying to be back as soon as possible.” Unfortunately, Aprilia team chief Massimo Rivola confirmed that Martin would not participate in the Argentinian race.

Rivola elaborated on Martin’s condition, mentioning, “The fracture was quite bad… but superheroes [are] like riders and Jorge will cut a lot of time [off a normal recovery timeframe].” He assured that the team prioritizes safety, stating that they would not rush Martin’s return without his full fitness. Lorenzo Savadori, who is substituting for Martin, aims to improve the bike’s performance further. Savadori remarked, “We are working in the right direction… to give Jorge [Martin] the best possible bike upon his return.”

In summary, the return of the Argentinian MotoGP is eagerly anticipated, with Aprilia riders focusing on enhancing their bike while Jorge Martin continues to recover from his injuries. The team demonstrates a commitment to improving the RS-GP25 for Martin’s eventual return, underscoring both safety and performance as priorities during this period of recuperation. Savadori’s interim role is integral in this development process.
