This announcement was made during the Brussels Conference, titled “Standing with Syria: Meeting the Needs for a Successful Transition,” which included participation from Syria’s transitional authorities.
The EU’s financial support for 2025 has increased from €560 million to €720.5 million. This elevated funding is intended to support the Syrian population, Syrian refugees, and vulnerable host communities in Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq. Furthermore, in an effort to bolster regional aid, the EU allocated €600 million for 2026 and committed €1.1 billion for both years for Syrian refugees and host communities in Turkiye.
