Baghaei further criticized the illegal and interventionist actions of G7 member states in West Asia, particularly regarding their military and political support for Israel. The top diplomats from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the EU foreign policy chief convened in Canada earlier this week. From this meeting, they published a joint statement accusing Iran of being the “principal source of regional instability” and asserting that Iran must not be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons. They also reiterated unfounded claims about Iran’s alleged influence on the Ukraine conflict.
Baghaei defended Iran’s nuclear program, stating that it aligns with the nation’s technical and industrial needs while fulfilling its international obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Safeguards Agreement.
