The 2025 Sands China Macao International 10K race saw Kenyan athletes excel, with Betty Sigei defending her women’s title by setting a new race record of 31 minutes and 23 seconds. She outperformed her fellow Kenyans, Cintia Chepngeno and Daisilah Jerono, to secure her victory.
In the men’s category, Kenya’s Vincent Kibet Langat triumphed, completing the race in 28 minutes and 7 seconds, also establishing a new record. He was followed by Ethiopia’s Teresa Nyakola Gela in second place and Kenya’s Harrison Wanjiru in third.
Among Macao residents, Hoi Long and Wang Kun won the women’s and men’s titles, respectively, both having previously won in 2024. Wang set a new Macao record of 31 minutes and 27 seconds, while Hoi recorded a time of 38 minutes and 42 seconds.
The Macao women’s category saw Chao Kin I and Law Kwan Wai finish in the top three, while Wong Chin Wa and Ip Weng Tou secured second and third places in the men’s category. The 10K champions were awarded cash prizes of US$10,000, with second and third place winners receiving $5,000 and $2,500 respectively.
The prestigious event commenced at Sai Van Lake Square and concluded within the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, marking another successful year for this international competition.
