Rafatu Inusah has been elected President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union for four years, succeeding Herbert Mensah. Unopposed in her election, Inusah aims to strengthen Ghana Rugby’s representation. She is supported by Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi and a newly elected board, facing the challenge of advancing the sport further.

Rafatu Inusah has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) for a four-year term. Inusah, a former Board Member, ran unopposed, succeeding Herbert Mensah, who now serves as President of Africa Rugby. With her extensive experience as an athlete, coach, and administrator, Inusah is well-prepared to lead Ghana Rugby into a new and promising era.

Inusah articulated her vision for the organization, stating, “We are going to tirelessly work together to make sure that Ghana Rugby is well represented. I am happy and proud of all of us, not myself and very humbled.” She will be accompanied by Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi as they aim to revitalize Ghana Rugby and enhance its representation on the continental stage.

The recent elections garnered attention from key stakeholders, such as World Rugby’s Dave Gilbert and Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the acting Director General of the National Sports Authority. New board members were elected unopposed, including Prince Kwaku, Emmanuel Kalos, Abdul Saeed Samed, SaCut Amenga-Etego, and Anita Atieku, who will serve as Women’s Representative.

Inusah commences her term building on the solid foundation established by her predecessor, Herbert Mensah. Under Mensah’s leadership, Ghana Rugby became a full member of World Rugby in 2017 and joined Rugby Africa. Inusah’s forthcoming challenge will be to enhance this momentum and elevate Ghana Rugby’s status further.

Inusah’s vast experience and dedication to the sport position her to have a profound influence on Ghana Rugby. As she initiates this significant journey, she embodies the aspirations of the Ghanaian rugby community, heralding a future filled with hope and potential success.

In summary, Rafatu Inusah’s election as President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union marks a pivotal moment for the organization. Her vision for representation and proactive leadership, supported by a competent board, sets the stage for revitalizing Ghana Rugby. As she builds upon the strong legacy of her predecessor, Inusah is expected to enhance Ghana’s presence in the rugby community, captivating the hopes of its supporters.
