The New York State Thruway Authority has officially opened the Angola Service Area on both east and west I-90. This marks the 26th service station to reopen as part of an expansive $450 million initiative aimed at revitalizing all 27 service areas along the Thruway. The Angola Service Area now features various popular dining options, including Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, and Panda Express, along with Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, which are set to open soon.
In addition to notable eateries, the Angola Service Area boasts three Starbucks locations, one situated within the restaurant complex and two Drive-Thru options at both eastbound and westbound parking lots. Furthermore, motorists can shop at Applegreen C-Store and purchase Taste NY food and drink products, among other appealing amenities.
Additional facilities available at the Angola Service Area include outdoor seating, designated dog-walking areas on both sides of the highway, a private nursing area, and a digital tourism kiosk. Moreover, four Level 3 high-speed EV chargers will be installed, although their availability will be announced at a later date.
The Thruway Authority emphasized that as of now, all service areas on I-90, extending from Albany to the Pennsylvania state line, are operational. Executive Director Frank G. Hoare expressed pride in reaching this significant milestone in the Service Area Redevelopment Project.
