Saudi Council of Ministers Calls for International Intervention on Gaza Aggression

The Saudi Council of Ministers condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza, urging the international community to intervene to halt violence and humanitarian crises. The Saudi Council of Ministers has condemned the renewed aggression by Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the urgent need for international intervention to halt the violence and alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. This statement was made during a Cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on Tuesday.

Following the session, Media Minister Salman Al-Dossary communicated to the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet welcomed discussions the Crown Prince had with international leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to regional and global security and stability amid ongoing international developments.

Additionally, the Cabinet acknowledged the conclusion of peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and a border demarcation agreement between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, expressing hopes for their continued success and prosperity. Domestically, focus was given to the launch of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, which celebrates the diverse architectural heritage of the Kingdom.

The Cabinet also discussed strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing development and social welfare projects to support the nation’s ambitions. It reviewed positive indicators concerning the national economy’s performance and recognized credit rating upgrades from international agencies, highlighting the commitment to structural reforms under Vision 2030.

In security matters, the Cabinet applauded the proactive efforts in monitoring drug trafficking, notably commending the Iraqi Ministry of Interior for its interception of a significant drug smuggling attempt, assisted by intelligence from Saudi authorities. Furthermore, a series of cooperation agreements were authorized, including ones with Egypt, Japan, and Pakistan, focusing on various sectors.

Other approved agreements included collaboration on customs matters with Pakistan, air transport services with Suriname and Lithuania, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Saudi Education and Training Evaluation Commission and Mauritania for educational reform. Additionally, the Cabinet authorized negotiations with Malaysia on internal auditing cooperation, reflecting a broad strategic partnership in various domains.

In summary, the Saudi Council of Ministers convened to address pressing issues, including the urgent need for international intervention in Gaza. The meeting showcased the Kingdom’s proactive stance on both regional and international concerns while also reflecting its commitment to domestic improvements and international collaborations.
