Argentina endorses the successful conclusion of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty negotiations, appreciating both nations’ efforts for a peaceful resolution. Despite ongoing tensions from Azerbaijan, Armenian officials maintain their commitment to sign the peace agreement, emphasizing future stability in the region.
Argentina has expressed its support for the conclusion of negotiations regarding the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Foreign Ministry’s statement, shared on X, noted, “Argentina welcomes the completion of the negotiations around the draft peace agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.” The Argentine government praised both nations for their commitment to reaching a peaceful resolution to their disputes.
In addition, the ministry articulated its optimistic outlook, stating that “the process will contribute to the development and welfare of the two countries, ensuring stability and prosperity for the South Caucasus region.”
On March 13, Armenia and Azerbaijan declared the successful conclusion of their negotiations on the peace treaty. However, following this announcement, the Azerbaijani government initiated a disinformation campaign, unfoundedly accusing Armenia of attacking its troops at the border. The Armenian military has persistently refuted these claims, and the EU monitoring mission also discredited the allegations concerning border shootings.
Azerbaijan has imposed certain preconditions, such as demanding amendments to Armenia’s constitution, based on erroneous claims that it reflects territorial aspirations against Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani administration also called for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, which has been involved in mediating the conflict.
On March 20, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized Armenia’s willingness to sign the peace agreement with Azerbaijan, reaffirming the commitment to peaceful coexistence between the two nations.

However, tensions have persisted, particularly with Azerbaijan’s unfounded accusations against Armenia and demands for constitutional changes.
