Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has reinforced his commitment to combatting drug-related activities on Koro Island by issuing a strong warning to its inhabitants. He declared a vigorous effort will be made to dismantle the drug trade, vowing that offenders will be prosecuted without leniency.
While addressing participants at the Koro High School Pass-out Parade, Tudravu urged students and community members to maintain discipline and protect the island from illegal activities to foster a safer environment.
He stated, “The Fiji Police Force will not rest until there is no marijuana on this island. If you’re cultivating it, we will find you, until you give up on these illegal activities.” He further emphasized the necessity of self-discipline and urged students to avoid unlawful behavior and drug offenses.
Tudravu praised the values instilled through cadet training, highlighting that discipline and adherence to authority are fundamental to success. He encouraged all students to safeguard the reputation of their school and island, saying, “I plead with you all, protect the school and its name, this island, and proud reputation of Koro.”
This year marks the second participation of Koro High School in the cadet training program, recognizing exceptional performances within the program. Uluikade House received accolades as the best platoon, while Apenisa Ledua of Koroibola House was named Male Platoon Commander. Simeli Cokanasiga of Kuitarua House was honored as the best male cadet, and Melissa Koroi of Uluikade House was acknowledged as the best female cadet. The Best Overall award went to Sevai House, with the baton of honor awarded to Parade Commander and head boy, Jona Vibose.
