Tata Motors Launches Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV in Mauritius

Tata Motors has launched the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV in Mauritius, marking its first entry into the Mauritian automobile sector. These models feature larger battery packs than their Indian counterparts, with the Tiago EV having a slightly improved claimed range. Tata plans to expand its EV offerings with upcoming models in India, including the Harrier and Sierra EVs.

Tata Motors has officially introduced three electric vehicle (EV) models in Mauritius, marking its entry into the Mauritian automobile market through a partnership with Allied Motors. This move represents Tata’s first launch of EVs outside the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) area, following its recent introduction of cars in Sri Lanka.

The models introduced are the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV, each equipped with the larger battery variants available in India. The specifications for the EV models are as follows:

– Tata Tiago EV: 24 kWh battery pack, 75 PS power output, 114 Nm torque, and a claimed range of 190-210 km.
– Tata Punch EV: 35 kWh battery pack, 122 PS power output, 190 Nm torque, and a claimed range of 270-290 km.
– Tata Nexon EV: 45 kWh battery pack, 144 PS power output, 215 Nm torque, and a claimed range of 350-375 km.

The Mauritius-spec Tiago EV shows a slight improvement in its claimed range compared to the Indian version, with an increase of 5 km. Other specifications and features mirror those of the Indian models, with no changes to the equipment list.

In addition to these three models, Tata Motors plans to expand its EV offerings in India. Upcoming launches include the Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and an all-electric version of the Safari, which is anticipated to be the flagship model in their lineup.

Tata Motors has entered the Mauritian market by launching the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV, showcasing its commitment to expanding the electric vehicle segment globally. This move, facilitated by its partnership with Allied Motors, follows its previous EV introductions in Sri Lanka. The Mauritian models retain their Indian counterparts’ specifications, with the notable exception of a slight increase in the claimed range for the Tiago EV. As Tata continues to enhance its portfolio with planned future launches, the company reflects a strong focus on electric mobility both in Mauritius and domestically in India.
