In a recent development, Lebanon and Syria have reached an agreement on a ceasefire following deadly cross-border clashes that resulted in ten fatalities. The accord was announced by the defence ministries of both nations after a meeting between Lebanon’s Defence Minister Michel Menassa and Syria’s Defence Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra. Additionally, the Lebanese health ministry reported that 52 individuals sustained injuries during the recent conflicts.
The ceasefire agreement aims to prevent further escalation of violence along the border, which has become increasingly volatile in the wake of the Syrian civil conflict.
