Saudi Arabia is enhancing the Grand Mosque’s facilities with the introduction of interactive screens and robots during the last ten days of Ramadan, a period of high worshipper attendance. Abdulrahman Al Sudais, the Chief of the Presidency for Religious Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, announced that the initiative aims to digitalize and automate various services through smart applications and artificial intelligence technology.

The newly launched Manara Robot is part of this digital transformation, designed to answer religious inquiries in multiple languages and cater to the immense number of pilgrims and visitors. Al Sudais commented, ‘The Manara Robot is an icon of artificial intelligence as it helps to answer the inquiries of visitors to the Grand Mosque.’ This technological advancement aims to provide exemplary guidance and religious information to visitors.

In addition to the Manara Robot, Saudi authorities are introducing various high-tech facilities, including AI-powered devices and translation systems that offer religious content in several languages.
